Cristo ~ EPK
Cristo Crudo, an exceptional Italian Canadian writer, performer and promoter, has gone great lengths to make his mark in the Canadian music scene. As a born performer, he excels at capturing the attention of a crowd. He is described as a crooner with a modern day twist, drawing his style influence from the Rat Pack, but with music tastes as varied as Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Paul Anka, Nicola Di Bari, Louie Prima, Lou Monte, The Bee Gees, Abba, The Beach Boys, Neil Diamond, Paul Simon, and of course Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
Having performed publicly for most of his life, Cristo carries great presence on stage. He has performed more recently at the New York International Music Festival, to which only 200 artists from around the world are invited to. He also appeared at the Lombardi Music Festival at Canada's Wonderland outside of Toronto, and performed his music to a crowd of approximately 10,000 people.
Cristo's most recent achievement in performance was the Bella Vita Gala. This was far more than a step forward as an artist and performer, this was also a huge step as an organizer of events. This major event also holds great significance to this dedicated musician, in it's purpose as a fund raiser for cancer research, dedicated to the memory of his mother, who passed away from the illness. His efforts with the gala have earned him the respect of the community and local media, the event helped to raise money for the Cross Cancer institute.
The benefit CD was a compilation of songs he had recorded before his mother had passed. Very quickly, he sold nearly 2000 CDs. Partial proceeds of the album sales go directly into the Art Medicine and Therapy Faculty, where Cristo believes that if his mother brought him into this world with a gift and a talent, that he would leave this world dedicating this gift to her. He's branded this campaign "Eternal Strength" through which he aims to donate partial proceeds from all album and merchandise sales towards the cause.
Cristo is now working with local studios, vocal coaches, arrangers, special event coordinators, and non-profit organizations; as well, he is trying to attract a major sponsor for his campaign. He is selecting both English and Italian songs, and constructing another album with which he hopes to make a long-term impact by touring festivals, regionally and abroad.
